I just had to remember what email I use for Substack. October is so very long ago.
I recently had a friend ask me for a mobility program, which pushed me to think about it all the time and bend my thought toward what things popped up in daily life that would be intricately woven into her goals.
Do you ever take a walk?
The next time you have the opportunity to walk on a paved surface and then onto an unpaved surface of any type, do so for me. But try this: pay attention to your weight. Start with your ankles. On the paved surface you’ll experience more or less the same weight distribution through your body. On the unpaved surface your ankles will angle slightly differently step to step, encouraging different muscle engagements and squishing and squeezing different things throughout your body. Your body loves to be squished and squeezed all over. It especially loves demand for putting on weight. It’ll thicken and support areas that over time are used more often. The fluid flow in your body is a mortal vital matter.
I think many people could learn a ton about themselves just by observing what their body does on a walk.
My friend already uses chairs little and sits and mucks around on the floor or gets her hands dirty in her garden, so to be honest I think she’s already doing FOINE when it comes to carrying on her longevity between the sunshine and the dirt, which gave us other targets to work toward based on specific things she’d like to get better at mobility-wise.
If you want a mobility program and all my leanings to be bent towards building your body, hit “reply” to this email and we will do that.
This has been my favorite part about being out here. My feet are so used to mats they have lost their calluses from running on streets the grass mud and rocks feel good. Running up the hills and things barefoot feels so nice
