This was the hardest podcast I've ever listened to
*There’s a story at 45 min or so that I actually had to stop and take some time to process before continuing sometime later.
The Surprising Reason Childbirth Can Kill a Couple’s Eros with Eyla Cuenca, on Reclamation Radio with Kelly Brogan, MD.
Don’t listen if you’re not into shadow work and prepared to think about yourself deeply.
I sent this to a friend because I think it will give him some perspective on his wife and how shut down she’s been for years.
I sent this to a friend who is thinking about having children with his wife.
I’m posting this on here because as someone I’ve done consultations with before said, I’m a Connector and a Maven (in Malcolm Gladwell-speak).
The ideas in this episode are so hard to get across because there are so many layers of the psyche protecting us at all times and our cultural norms are outright abusive toward women and giving birth. Almost 100% of the time they are innocently so.
Which is what I also loved about this podcast.
Eyla and Kelly are so aware of the layers behind how things happen and are not shy about naming them. They share stories about the ways that they’ve encountered shocking things, as well as hold deep compassion that’s evident in their auras when they speak, particularly Eyla.
The relationships between men and women are so darkly twisted today, and they speak to that too.
The amount of depth they bring forth in such a short conversation is a testimony to how long they’ve been discussing these things.
So, if the name, description, or my recommendation intrigue you, have a ride on this podcast.
It’s a must for men and women single or together who are not afraid to dive into deep shadows in considering their relationships and the possibility of bringing a child forward.
