My hopes were annihilated. The sound was terrible in all of my interviews. I already had three in the bag and I couldn’t post any fully.

I posted this on Instagram two days ago:

If you can’t click, it shows poor Victor Elmurr trying to hear me as we were recording the intended first interview episode of my new podcast - Hopes, Dreams, Plans, & Commitments, that was supposed to go out TODAY.

Not ALL of the recordings were bad. I was at the time and I am still optimistic that I can edit and put together meaty episodes by working around the gaps.

I got so excited that I had already recorded THREE this past week while trying to convince myself it was all ok, with these amazing individuals -

  1. Victor Elmurr - An amazing energetic human. Victor is a mobility specialist in Scottsdale AZ, who has trained consistently most of his adult life to increase his real-world experience helping people move, breathe, and function like good humans. His dreams include fatherhood(!) and opening his own private practice, and we talked about both.

  2. Azimah Uresk - I know people throw “goddess” around a lot but if you’ve known Azimah… she’s a Singapore-born woman who helps people find the home in themselves that was there the whole time. She’s an embodiment coach, natural leader, personal trainer, recently finished a pelvic-floor bodywork training in Bali, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teacher at Victory MMA in San Diego, and is also amazing at sucking the juice out of life.

  3. Will Schlucter - Will gave up owning a gym in recent years to pursue lifeguarding, community, and coaching people around all the beliefs he learned about during his years of personal training (particularly kettlebells) and subsequent gym ownership. He’s someone I met on a Jiu-Jitsu mat once and kept in touch with ever since because he is just that memorable, and his growth is popping through the screen and in his voice now.

I got a TON of amazing ideas and feedback in the comments section of that post, bless you ALL. There’s something called Riverside.fm that records simultaneously on their end in case your signal sucks I will investigate.

But in the meantime my controllables to continue moving forward included ordering a mic to use with my phone, which now that I have a new 14 Pro has a much better camera than my computer does anyway. I got this one.

I used it right out of the box to record the episode I’m sharing today.

In it I reveal my plans to help humans recover their ability to get up off the floor, make money doing it, and talk to people for the podcast moving forward.

If you are interested in the more in-depth shit, controversial material, or even more personal shit I love to talk about they’re available in the paid portion of this Substack. I’m going to be doing some more intentional things with the paid subscriptions soon. Weekly coaching prompts to guide you down the most interesting aspects of life I know for only $5/month. Perfect for the (nearly)-self-starter.

Things I want to know related to this episode:

  1. Would you prefer if I had some kind of music or other intro stuff at the beginning of podcast episodes?

  2. Can you get up off the floor in fewer than 3 seconds?

  3. Did you already know it’s false to say that people used to die at 30?
